Visit from Harmony, Randi & Tarin

My grandmother and her niece, Randi and Randi's daughter, Tarin stopped by to visit us for a couple of days on their way to Florida. We had a lot of fun during their visit. Randi and I went to the Flowertown festival, which is a BIG arts & crafts festival in downtown Summerville and Randi, Tarin and I went to downtown Charleston. Keagan had so much fun with his great harmony and his cousin. Here are some pics from their trip!








Keagan has learned SO many new things in the past week! Just last week I was feeling like he hadn't learned anything new in a while, and now he is crawling, clapping, waving (and sometimes even saying hi!), giving kisses and as of two days ago he can sit up from laying down! He is also into everything now! Last week I was doing the dishes and looked over at him and this is what I found him doing!



He loves chasing the dogs around the house. It is really cute when he chases Sadie because she thinks it's a game and starts to play with him, which makes him laugh so hard! He also loves it when Dottie licks him, he thinks it's so funny!

Well Overdue for an Update!

I realize I have been absolutely horrible in keeping up with this blog. I haven't made an update since before we moved in December! I promise to try harder to be consistent. It should be a little easier now that Mike is working full days. I seem to have a lot more time on my hands and find myself bored at home when he is at work.

I love our home here! It is about 1000 times better than our previous apartment. I also love the area where we live. Keagan and I recently visited a plantation with my good friend Sabrina and her son, Andrew. They have gardens that are absolutely gorgeous and we had so much fun! There are so many places we have yet to check out around here.

Keagan is getting SO big! He just started crawling last night. I made a video of him crawling, which I'll post on here. Or course he crawled to Sadie & Dottie. He had his 9 month check up last week and now weighs 19lbs. 2 oz. (50th percentile) and is 28 3/4" long (90th percentile). Our boy is going to be tall, just like his Daddy! We have been trying to teach him to wave, but he doesn't always do it. Although he does do it occasionally. He also learned how to clap in the last week and is always clapping. He also just started this move where it looks like he is going to do a pushup or "downward dog", haha. I can't believe how much he's accomplished just in the last week!

We found out today officially that my sister, Liz is coming for Easter. I'm SO excited to see her and spend a whole week with her! While she's here I hope to go to the zoo. They have a penguin exhibit opening this month, so I hope it opens before she gets here! I'm sure we'll do lots of other fun things while she's here, but I'm looking forward to the zoo. My Harmony is also stopping by for a visit on her way to Florida this weekend with some of my distant family. I'm excited to see her as well!

We've Been Busy!

So, our trip to South Carolina was fun and successful! We got the house that we wanted and we got to see our good friends, Sabrina, James and Andrew. Unfortunately, our trip was cut a little short because one of our dogs, Sadie, wasn't behaving at our friends' house. I was so stressed out and after we knew that the house was ours, I had a blast with Sabrina, James & Andrew. We went to downtown Charleston and hung out, at dinner at the brew works and then went and got a bunch of candy at this old fashioned candy store. I had forgotten just how fun and beautiful Charleston is. There is so much gorgeous architecture, culture and SO many things to do! I absolutely cannot wait to move there!

The nice, deep garden bathtub in our bathroom. I am looking forward to taking a nice, relaxing bubble bath in here! Opposite the bathtub is a big stand up shower. It is like the size of a tub/shower combo, which will be nice after having that tiny stand up shower at our old apartment!






And lastly, this is the room that will be our office/playroom. It is the converted 2 car garage, so it's pretty big and it will comfortably house all of Keagan's toys, our computer and entertainment center!

We also went to the aquarium last week and Mike took a few pictures. Keagan had an absolute blast while looking at all of the fish, turtles, otters and everything else!

And once we got home from the aquarium, that day Keagan had his first taste of baby food! We started off giving him some carrots, and the next day we gave him peas! Here's a video and some pictures of him enjoying his veggies!

Mike also recorded a video of Keagan and I playing and he was laughing and squealing away and it was just about the cutest thing, ever! Although the video is really dark, I figured I'd post it anyway!

We also went to the dog park last week and I brought along my camera and took some pictures.

And Keagan also had his 4 month check up on Monday. He is now 15lbs. and 10oz. and 24in. long! He sure is getting so big so fast! It is just amazing all of the new things he is learning to do! While I was feeding him sweet potatoes on Friday, he started blowing raspberries all while his mouth was still filled with food. There were sweet potatoes everywhere! It sure was cute, though!

Mike is leaving tomorrow to go on his LAST underway. It is a long one, but thankfully it will be his last one, ever! And Keagan and I are gearing up to take a trip to PA while Daddy is gone. We're leaving on Wednesday morning and will be there for about a week and a half. Hopefully the drive won't take us longer than 8 hours. But I am looking forward to seeing everyone! And I'm sure Keagie Boy is, too!

Fall is Finally Here!

Yesterday we decided to take a trip to Hunt Club Farm where they have a fall harvest festival with hay rides and lots of pumpkins and a petting zoo. We got there and walked around a bit, took some pictures and picked out some pumpkins. We were thinking of going into the petting zoo so Keagan could see all the animals, but it was pretty warm out and he started getting fussy so our trip was short but sweet! Here are some pictures!

We also had a little photoshoot of our own at home with Keagan in his Halloween costume and Halloween outfit. Here are some of those pictures!

We are gearing up to go down to Charleston, SC next Sunday for a few days to find a place to live and are super excited about it! I have been calling around to find out more information about a few homes that we're interested in renting and I have discovered that our choices might be limited because we have two dogs who weigh over 100lbs. together and also because we want to sign a lease while we are there next week but won't be moving in until the beginning of December. But, I have found one house that seems very promising! The owner said the dogs are fine and that he'd be willing to save the house for us if we pay the security deposit while we are there next week! The house is the biggest one out of all the ones we've looked at so far, and it meets our requirements of a fenced in backyard and it even has four bedrooms! We have an appt. to go look at that on Monday morning. We are also working with a realtor who said she's going to send us information about other homes that she thinks we'd be interested in, so hopefully we will find a few more. But we are really crossing our fingers that the other one isn't snatched up in the next 8 days!

A New Toy!

We bought Keagan a jumper toy, and although he is a little too small for it, he likes to play in it! His tippy toes just touch the floor in it, so he can't really bounce in it just yet, but he loves when I bounce him. It also has lots of toys around it and he has begun to play with them! There is a little red ball that he loves to spin. It is like a hamster wheel and it has tiny little balls inside of it. He also likes to touch the little frog on it and move the colorful rings around the bar. He also loves to stare at the colorful links that hang down from it! Update!

It has been quite a while since I last updated this! Keagan has grown so much! He is 3 months and one week old as of today. Our little booger just learned to roll over! I had him on his play mat and I went to get the camera because he was long overdue for a new video, but before I could get it to start recording, he had already rolled over twice! So I captured the 3rd time on video! Here is the video!






Also, he has started drooling SO much. It makes me wonder when he's going to start teething! I stuck my finger in his mouth earlier today to see if I could feel anything, but I couldn't. He started chomping down on my finger though! Usually he'll suck on it, but today he was chomping away!

He is also laughing all of the time and it is just the cutest thing that I've ever seen or heard! I need to capture that on video sometime soon! He is so responsive to everything now. I'll smile at him and he'll smile back with that big toothless smile that I love so much. I'll put him in his bumbo chair and he'll watch cartoons on Noggin or one of his Baby Einstein DVDs for about 20 minutes!

Besides being amazed by all of the new things that our little boy does now, we are getting excited to move! We have been looking at houses to rent down in SC and I am actually going to call a realtor at the end of this week to see if he has more rental listings that we'd be interested in and also about going to check out the ones that we are interested in when we go down to Charleston next month. We are so excited to get out of this crappy apartment and into a nice home with a yard in a nice neighborhood!

Things have been really busy, but good since we've been home. Our little man is starting to sleep longer now, which is nice! He had his 2 week check up yesterday and he has gained 7oz. since he was born and now weighs 6lbs. and 2oz. He also grew 1.5 inches since he was born and is now 20.75 inches long!
